Meghan’s commitment to serving others was developed through her previous careers in animal welfare advocacy and local law enforcement. Working within various sectors of animal rescue followed by frontline policing, Meghan gained invaluable experiences and skills working in high stress and emotionally-charged situations. She excelled in her abilities to connect, assist and advocate for those in need of assistance. Further, she recognized the importance of educating, empowering and collaborating with others to problem solve. Meghan has an uncanny ability to establish trust and confidence in those she serves and is well-known for going “above and beyond”.

Growing up in Metchosin, Meghan became immersed in the different communities of the Capital Regional District where she acquired local knowledge of their characteristics and attributes. Living the coastal island lifestyle, her love for wildlife and nature flourished. Often, these passions send Meghan on many adventures wildlife spotting, hiking, sailing and beachcombing the accessible locations near Victoria. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree majoring in psychology from the University of Victoria, she sought professional opportunities that allowed her to stay in Victoria where she continues to live.
